OnLine Training
Case 1: New Online Training Course
As a result of some company-wide email policy changes, our client wanted to developa new online course that not only effectively disseminated the new policy information, but taught users how to use the email system efficiently. Although the client had history of offering online courses, most courses had little to no interaction and were difficult to navigate. The large majority of them were PowerPoint presentations placed online. SynLynk wanted to raise the bar by designing an interactive and visually interesting site, especially since the content itself was rather dry. Solution SynLynk rewrote and re-designed the course content to support ease of flow for online delivery. With our contractor, Net-Deziner, we designed a brand new look and feel for the site. Stepwise procedures were shown with colorful graphics and interactive screens to add interest for the learner. Results Our client team was extremely happy with the high quality of the working relationship with SynLynk over the course of the project. As for the product, our client was so pleased that the company entered the online course into a competition. The bar had indeed been raised for online learning! See the sidebar at left for an excerpt from the letter our client wrote to enter the competition.
Case 2: Converting Classroom Training to Online Training Situation The company was looking for ways to cut training costs and to make training more available to employees. At the time, no online training was offered. A great initial candidate for its entry into the online learning arean was the company's "Bloodborne Pathogens" course. Previously offered as a classroom-based program through the Red Cross, most employees were required to take the course every year. Solution Supported by a state grant through the Center for Workforce Development, SynLynk redesigned the course to make it suitable for online delivery. Utilizing the skills of SynLynk partner Net-Deziner, we designed the "look and feel" and navigation of the site. Although the site contains a large amount of technical information, its layout is simple and related pictures are plentiful. This makes the content easy to read, navigate and learn. SynLynk also designed and created the online tests, a requirement of client organization, to ensure employees meet the minimum standards for retention and learning. Results Our client is thrilled with the results! The response of the users has been tremendous and the client is planning more online training. See our client's testimonial at left. |
